Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov took part in the opening ceremony of the new arrival hall at the Osh international airport as part of his working visit to Osh and Jalal-Abad regions, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
The Prime Minister said that the construction of such infrastructure facilities is a clear indicator of the country's development.
"The new arrival hall of the Osh international airport is equipped with necessary modern equipment. Modernization of the airport in Osh city is carried out within the framework of measures taken by the Government of the republic to improve security and provide comfortable conditions for our citizens and foreign guests staying in the country," Sapar Isakov said.
He noted that further infrastructural plans for the development of the republic's airports are on his personal control.
"This sphere has a great future. In the future, the Kyrgyz Republic may become a major regional air hub in Central Asia," he said.
Prime Minister Sapar Isakov examined the new arrival hall of the airport, tested the installed new Electronic Gate (E-gate).
Chairman of the Manas International Airport Emir Chukuev told about plans for the development of international airports in Jalal-Abad and Batken.
The opening of the new arrival hall was made due to the expansion of the existing building of the airport complex of the Osh international airport. The new arrival hall will simultaneously accept 2-3 flights, its total area will be 2000 m2. At the moment, the capacity of the airport complex, taking into account the expansion, is 550-600 passengers per hour.
In addition, the runway of the airport will be extended for 400 meters with the installation of the necessary radio and lighting equipment.
